The business world is vast, with many subcategories and titles that are all meant to facilitate communication and work, but for newcomers, it can all be overwhelming and strenuous. It is necessary to start somewhere, and as with many subjects, terminology and vocabulary is the best way to get a foothold on a new topic. For the business world, that can mean many things, but in terms of doing business with government agencies, understanding what Request For Proposals (RFP), Request For Information (RFI), and Request For Quotation (RFQ) is of one of the highest importance. Understanding these and when to use them can launch your business forward and give you a large advantage over any potential competition. Each of these procurement tools are dense in content, so learning how to respond and understand them is vital to the success of your small business.
Luckily, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) is hosting its monthly virtual First Friday's Training just on this very topic. The learning objectives of this webinar include understanding the power of responding to RFIs and Sources Sought Notices, tips on how to create an effective response, and common mistakes to avoid. The webinar will also offer insights from Federal contracting officers and explain differences between RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs and giving strategies for creating effective responses for each. Presented by Claudia Hadley and Kemba Gilmore, Small Business Specialists of GSA OSDBU, the webinar is free and open to all of industry, but registration is required.
